In 2022, he was attracted to Etajima City and moved there after retiring from the Maritime Self-Defense Force in 2024. He opened “it’s mo!”, a bicycle rental shop in Etajima City. Etajima is the largest island in Hiroshima Prefecture. Etajima has a very unique topography, and different views can be seen from each location. Etajima is the closest island to Hiroshima city. It takes 30 minutes by train from the Shinkansen’s “Hiroshima Station” and 30 minutes by ferry from “Hiroshima Port (Ujina Port)” to reach Etajima, taking about an hour in total. Etajima can also be reached by land, taking about 75 minutes to land on Etajima.
